Tomas Danko, VO Producer at DICE, recently revealed that Battlefield fans can look forward to another patch coming in February.
In other, dare we say more important news, Danko also has some news regarding where the jeep horn fix went. “I found the patch where the jeep horn fix was added to but don’t know when it will be released (it wasn’t released yet).”
We finally have word of another Battlefield 3 patch on the way. While there are no official details available yet, we do have word of DICE looking into a number of bugs and issues.
Many fans are reporting troubles playing with friends in Battlefield 3. The most common issue many of you may have already experienced is having either yourself or a teammate kicked to the opposing team, even though you were in the same squad in the menus. Others are reportedly having problems simply joining a game as a squad. As we all know, teamwork is a huge part of the Battlefield 3 experience. Therefore, issues like these should be dealt with quickly. Thankfully, DICE has stated that they “are aware of squad related issues, and are working toward a fix.”
A few other fixes that should be making their way to Battlefield 3 soon:
Alan Kertz, Senior Gameplay Designer at DICE, has mentioned that he will be looking into fall damage. Many players currently find it too unforgiving. He replied, “totally on the list.” Tomas Danko, VO Producer at DICE, recently had this to say, revealing the month in which we can expect a new patch: “I just found & fixed a bug that sometimes caused opposite faction/team Radio VO to play in the deploy screen or while being dead. Feb patch.“ Danko also recently talked about adding horn sounds for humvees/vodniks: “a colleague of mine fixed it but I don’t know what happened/what patch it got added to. I expected it to go live already.” There seems to be a bit of confusion regarding horns but it looks like they could be added shortly. Danko also updated fans on the incoming Comrose 2.0: “comrose is being updated to resemble the old one,” most likely referring to Battlefield 2. He also added that “a lot of other issues are being worked on. Multiplayer is still being developed.”
Of course, on top of these bugs and issues, we could possibly see some of those weapon attachment rebalances that Alan Kertz has been working on recently
Alan Kertz, Senior Gameplay Designer at DICE has recently listed some updates that we can soon expect to see in Battlefield 3.
Many recon players are noticing severe inaccuracy when firing immediately after aiming down sight when using a red dot or holographic sight with a sniper rifle. Some might assume that this is a counter-measure to so called “quick-scoping,” but when asked if this is something that will be “fixed” in the future, Kertz answered, “indeed.”
Adding on to the complaints are the issues players are having with the M320 grenade launcher. Many are hoping for some sort of nerf to be applied to this weapon. Kertz has suggested that perhaps “the refill speed [when replenishing ammo] on them is too fast” and that he “will update.”
When it comes to the Javelin, Kertz did mention that he had some intentions of nerfing the anti-aircraft weapon. When asked for clarification, he stated that he may nerf it “against choppers a bit maybe.”
Kertz also mentioned earlier that the .44 Magnum would be seeing “some love” in the near future. Today, he re-confirmed some more details agreeing with fans that 5 hits to kill at range is a bit much. One fan stated, ”I love the .44 Magnum but don’t you think 5 hit kill at range is a little much? It has 6 rounds.” Kertz responded, “we agree, you and I.”
The other nerf concerns the FAMAS assault rifle. Though not yet implemented, it seems that DICE will lower the power of the FAMAS when pairing it up with its foregrip accessory. A lot of changes are expected on the accessory front also. Changes could include providing bipod, suppressor, foregrip, flash suppressor, laser pointer and heavy barrel.
We are hoping to see these updates in the February patch, which we will have notes for as soon as they become avail

So look forward to half of us being able to play, whilst the other half has to wait around until Battlelog becomes live
amazing… if they fix the horn, then they can leave the rest of the game alone as its perfect otherwise
ffs, get your frickin house in order dice/ea
A few weeks ago we heard word of the new Commorose 2.0 being implemented in the upcoming Battlefield 3 patch. Now once again thanks to a twitter clue , looks as though the February Patch will include tons of new changes including a new series of Voice Overs.
It’s not just a small “patch”, it’s shitloads of recordings with lots of actors + new code support.via DICE Dev, Tomas Danko
